Innovative Masters of Accounting

Innovative Masters of Accounting offer either a multidisciplinary curriculum (combination of finance, accounting, and information systems) or a niche specific specialization (forensics accounting or accounting information systems or controllership).

If you know of a program that responds to either characteristics but is not listed on here, be kind to submit a comment or to shoot me an email: ndansu(AT)thestudentcpa(DOT)com

I already finish my Master in Accounting at NOVA Southeastern University. I want to specialize in Forensic Accounting and the university did not offered me that option.
Additional to that, the cost per credit hour is very high.

Florida Atlantic University has a Master degree in Forensic Accounting, but they do not allow you to take the only the classes that you need, if you already have a Master in Accounting (general) from another university.

Thank you for taking the time to submit a comment.
If you are interested in becoming a forensic accountant, I would suggest that you consider first obtaining your CPA license if you haven’t done so already. Additionally you should consider obtaining either CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) or the CFF (Certified in Financial Forensics) credential. You don’t have to take forensic accounting classes in order to sit for these exams. Last but not least, in your career search, you should be targeting accounting firms with fraud prevention and detection or forensic and ligation support services. Here is a PDF file from the AICPA outlining some of the key characteristics of effective forensic accountants. I hope you find it helpful. Let me know if I can be of further help.
      Good luck with everything!
